Makeup Of The Day

Hi lovelies, in today’s post I will show and explain my FOTD and all the makeup and tools I’ve used!

20140611-125822-46702784.jpg

Firstly, I used my second favourite moisturiser which is the Nivea soft moisturiser and applied it all over my face. Then added my all time fave foundation which is the Maybelline Fit Me in 220. The finish is amazing very natural and sheer. I had used a Real Techniques buffing brush to blend it all in. Furthermore, for concealer I used Maybelline’s fit me concealer, shade 25 and used it along my brow bone and blemishes and blended it out with a sponge and expert face brush from real techniques.

Secondly, I did my eyeliner keeping it thin with a small wing. I used an old eyeliner in the brand 2true. Then a Clinique lash defining mascara, it is super volumising and incredible.

Lastly, for lips I lined my lips with NYC’s lip liner in a deep berry shade, then used my current favourite MAC Lipstick in Rebel. This shade is unreal. It can be applied full on opaque or sheered out. Pigmentation is great and doesn’t budge from your lips, sort of like a lip stain. I definitely recommend this lipstick.

Makeup Haul

In today’s post I will talking about a few recent makeup purchases from the high street and my view on them.

20140531-230845-83325853.jpg

1. MUA primer http://www.superdrug.com/face-make-up/mua-undress-your-skin-flawless-primer/invt/632853

Great primer and works well on all skin types and balances out foundation helping to give a flawless finish. I would say this is a copy of Maybelline’s baby skin primer.

2. Maybelline Fit me concealer

I was on the hunt for a new concealer I was tired of searching and always seeing the Collection concealer being raved about. In my opinion, I dislike the collection concealer as it’s too cakey and drying. This concealer attracted me as I currently use Maybelline’s fit me foundation and also I’ve heard the youtuber, Lily Pebbles speak about this. It reminded me of the wake me up concealer and is very light and sheer. I definitely recommend this.

3. Max Factor face finity all day flawless 3 in 1

Wow, what a mouthful. This foundation was one I found while reading blog posts about good high coverage drugstore foundations. When I was at the max factor counter the woman tested two shades but I was in between which was a let down. In my opinion, this is a great foundation but the colour shade selection is awful and the 3 in 1 claim of primer, concealer & foundation isn’t true, as I still needed concealer as well as primer. Furthermore, it stayed for a few hours the least and looked very cakey, streaky and dryIng. I was very disappointed by this foundation.

4. Maybelline great lash mascara – waterproof

This was in my 3 for 2 offer at superdrug I had £5 to buy anything from the cosmetic range. I found this mascara for only £5!! And it was Maybelline..bargain. Bargain it may be the quality was appalling. The formula inside the mascara felt empty the plastic brush was so bad. I had to apply constantly for a good amount to give a good look. It’s quite lengthening after applying 5 times. I was disappointed as Maybelline have the some of the best mascaras in my opinion. I don’t recommend this.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

In today’s post I will be doing a review on the raved about Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.

Maybelline are a great makeup brand, so I wasn’t scared or anxious to try this product out, I have heard lots of mixed reviews on it and then my auntie actually got me one!

The formula is a gel type solution and very light weight. The colour shading is also very good, they go by skin tones e.g pink, brown and yellow tone. They also have a number scale for skin shades, i am currently in the medium brown skin colour, 220.

It is good for people who have slightly oil skin which leaves a lights dewy feeling as well as a matte texture. It is a great everyday foundation and is very light to medium coverage.

It is a very good drugstore foundation and I definitely recommend it, this is priced around the £7.99 mark which is reasonable.

Beauty Wishlist

On today’s post I will show you all my beauty wish list. These items are indeed all lipsticks, they have attracted me so much and I haven fallen in love.
Also they are all MAC which are my faves as they have so many different shade ranges and texture.

1. MAC Lipstick, Please Me.

I love MAC Lipsticks they come in so many different shades and texture. Their colours are also so pigmented and vibrant which is incredible.
One of favourite pinky nude colours would have to be Please Me, nude colours do not suit my skin tone at all which is dissapointing! *cries*
This is £15 quite a lot for a lipstick I might cave in when I actually try it in store or just buy a drugstore dupe.

20140225-105712.jpg

2. MAC Lipstick, Up the amp.

Up the amp is a purple lipstick, before I wasn’t one for a bright lip like purple but when Little Mix had a new make up collection with Collection make up, Perrie’s purple lipstick went viral. It was so popular and it didn’t look to bad. I went into superdrug and fell in love. It is one of my favourite lipsticks now. Up the amp is now one of my favourite mac lipsticks that I NEED to purchase ASAP. I now have a purple lipstick obsession.

3. MAC Lipstick, Rebel

Wow this lipstick is beautiful. I fell in love with this lipstick months ago and still love it. I don’t really like bright reds and sheer shades but this deep plum red I LOVE. This colour is so autumnal/winteresque. It has become extremely popular and raved about a lot. MAC also do similar shades to this such as Hang Up, Diva or even Cyber if your feeling abit daring. This lipstick is a definite must. I will be purchasing this along with Up The Amp. This is also £15, along with Up The Amp and Please Me.

Fashion Wishlist

Today I will be writing about a few pieces of clothing/footwear which are currently on my wish list.

1. Mom Jeans- these jeans are so good looking, mom jeans are so versatile. They can be worn in all sorts of different ways and style.

My favourite are probably these from Ohmylove.com
These are the high waisted grey acid wash mom jeans, these jeans can be styled with a nice t shirt or sweater for a day or night look.

These are £38.99, I have seen a few stores which sell them cheaper, also I always need to try jeans on in store as I can never find the correct size.

20140224-202654.jpg

2. Watercolour floral kimono, Forever 21, £16.75

Recently, kimonos have become a trend, many high street stores such as River Island, Select and Forever 21 have stocked up with the most beautiful kimonos.

One that has caught my eye is one from Forever 21, this kimono had the prettiest print ever! It is black and red floral print, my favourite. The sleeves are 3/4 and oversized which really intrigued me, as I’ve never seen a kimono like this one before.

20140224-203652.jpg

3. Sweater, Zara, £19.99 ( I think )

I’m never one for sweater type tops I find them quite boring and dull. As I was on Zara’s website they had a new collection of tops from basics, prints and textured. A black top had straight away attracted me, although it was all black there was a zip detailing going down the back of the top, which was quite quirky and different. It is quite baggy, fitting in with the oversized top trend aswell as being light weight and cosy. I will definitely be purchasing this either online or if I go into London this weekend.

Below I will add some pictures from the Burberry catwalk of all my favourites! Enjoy

New Blushers

Recently I have bought two new Blushers as I didn’t really have a lot as I’m not a blush person.

I really wanted a MAC or Nars blush as most Youtubers rave about them the most, but when I saw a few dupes with a nicer price I caved and bought two faboulous Blushers.

The first one is an extremely raved blush/bronzing kit from ELF Cosmetics this is a dupe for NARS Orgasm and Laguna. I remember velvet ghost ( Youtuber ) talking about this ELF dupe. ELF have 3 different shades St Lucia, Antigua and I can’t remember the other one. I went onto the ELF website they had none left in stock so I then had to purchase it on Amazon.

The colour is so shimmery and pigmented gives the PERFECT glow. On the other hand, the bronzer in my opinion disappointed me. It was really pigmented but just didn’t match my skin tone.

It was £6, Antigua, Amazon

20140221-174325.jpg

20140221-174253.jpg

Next, is a quite pricey blusher from Clinique. The shade is called, Iced Lotus I bought this from Debenhams; they are also sold in Boots also and online.

This is a powder blush and the product itself has a silky texture leaving an effortless finish on the cheekbones defining your cheeks.

I really like this blusher as it is available it many pink/red tones, it matches my skin perfectly and is so worth it!

£21, Iced Lotus, Debenhams

Mini Haul

Well I haven’t done a proper blog in AGES.

I thought I would do a mini haul, which I haven’t ever done and I like reading people’s blog hauls and watching videos they are so interesting as well as inspirational as you catch a few style tips here and there!

Firstly, are some Topshop jeans. I bought some topshop joni jeans in navy blue a few months ago and the colour had started to fade and didn’t looking as nice as they were when I had first bought them. So I needed some new jeans. I really wanted a light bluey wash colour something different. I found some lovely Leigh skinny jeans in a light blue wash. They are so comfy so similar to the joni jeans but not as high waisted, but I didn’t mind.

They are super super soft and cosy! They were quite pricey, £38 but are so worth it. They are very fitting and the sizings are so accurate, as I can never find jeans my correct size:(

20140220-224310.jpg

Next, are these Jeffery Campbell Coltrane boot dupes from eBay. These have been in trend since November and are so popular. In a past blog post I had said how much I wanted them and when new look ran out of stock I wanted the river island ones which also ran out of stock! I then saw loads of eBay at such reasonable prices.

These were £24.99 a bargain! They have a chunky heel and beautiful rose gold buckles and are so comfy. They can be styled with some nice printed leggings or turn up jeans and a nice t shirt or leather jacket.

They are a bit dirty as I have been wearing them so much recently!
